Tips for Keeping Coats On!

Keeping our kids/teens warm during the winter can be a challenge! Many children with autism do not like the feeling of heavier clothes and coats. Try preparing your child for the winter months by practicing wearing a coat before they need to wear it. Start practicing in early fall and for short periods of time. Begin with a small goal such as 30 seconds and work your way up! Use a reward system or a visual schedule to help with the transition.
